Koh Chang part 2.....

We've spent the last 2 weeks in Koh Chang 'chilaxing' here's a few pic's of what our days have consisted of (I know we are very lucky it's been heaven)

Breakfast by the sea contemplating what part of the beach to lay on and what factor to use today.....

We've tried out every breakfast establishment - Dan takes this very seriously!

Testing out the mornings dive site....

Nothing down here...

This guy had clearly been in Thailand a while with his solar powered one man fishing boat....

There are always dangers swimming out here as I found out when I had an encounter with a jelly fish...

Something I've always wanted to do is go Elephant Trekking on the other hand its something Dan has never wanted to do (see white knuckles!) Chang means Elephant so it only seemed right we did it here....

Dan was particularly nervous at this point when our elephant guide jumped off to take these pictures!

This one was was called Anna - not that it resembled either Anna's from home thought we'd capture a pic :)

This was our Elephant her name was Nam Taan and she was 37, here I am feeding her....

There was also a baby elephant who had only been born a couple of weeks before, it was amazing to see one so young....

He didn't have a name but I entered the competition to name him (I went for Sky) and get this the 4th prize was the placenta, apparently it's lucky mmmm not so sure!!

Here I am feeding his mummy she looked very restless bless her and eat the food even faster than Dan eats!

As well as elephants and monkey's there are loads of cats and dogs, although we did learn after Ruby not to get too close as we can't face the goodbyes....

This one reminded me of my cat George...

This one we met at a restaurant (ok we did feed her) when we woke up in the morning she was on our veranda, we thought it was amazing she'd found out where we lived but it turned out that was where she always sat in particular when it rained....

For those of you who know Dan you know he's rather partial to the occasional tattoo and Koh Chang was no exception......

Out here they let you drink while you're having it done and after 8 hours safe to say he was a little worse for wear!

After all the excitement in our days watching the sunset with a Singha is the best way to end it....

Is there no end to this man's appetite!

Check out the bridge this is our route to the beach which is a little harder to cross after a few drinks!

Check it out girls (zoom in on ticket) they even have Super Sundays in Koh Chang :)

In between doing the blog we even find time to skype people occasionally - no it's not a tv programme about John the Monkey it really is John!

Then we go out for food (out here they don't do hostels with kitchens so we've had to eat out everynight hard life ey!)

Ice cold glass...good times...

This place had hammocks god life is so hard out here!

Koh Chang - part 1

Our first night in Koh Chang was spent in a Mexican hostel which was lovely but we wanted to find something that was slightly better and cheaper as we'd decided to give our rucksacks a break and spend the rest of our trip here so we went on a search to find somewhere, also we found out that Lonely Beach, or should I say where we got dropped off in the taxi the night before, wasn't as close as we thought to the actual beach so we also went in search on the it! After a 10 min walk we found the beach and after 3 hostel changes we found what we now call home (well for the next couple of weeks anyway!).....

Here's Lonely beach were we spend most of our days unless it's cloudy :)

On our first night out we couldn't believe our luck when we met a major celeb Robert Downey Jr, well not exactly but we thought he looked like him and after a few drinks I told him!

There names were Jesse and Anna from Canada and we spent the evening with them in a local bar listening to live music and drinking the local Thai whiskey! Check me out doing a spot or Thai pole dancing or should I say holding myself up!

The other guy in the photo is Ricky Stone his brother owned the bar and did a fantastic take on Bob Marley but not so good at Oasis :)

This little guy lived at the bar and apparently they were using the tips to school him, he's originally from Cambodia and it seems Koh Chang being close to the boarder do quite a bit of charitable work for these kids - however not sure how much education he was getting collecting glasses, although he was learning how to write and speak English when he took our drink and food orders and the guy said he loved him like a son :)

Look what Dan found just outside the bar.....

After saying goodnight to Jesse and Anna we headed home via the 7/11 which seems to be open 24/7 and bumped into a group people playing and singing outside, Dan just had to show them he could do Wonder Wall (Oasis) properly....

We decided to hire a moped and go check out the other beaches I think we chose the hottest day but at least it didn't rain this time although we did run out of petrol, check out our helmets I managed to persuade Dan he needed to wear one - does anyone remember the American programme Chips?

We found another view point, we still plan to kayak to that Island....

As it was Sunday we tracked down an Irish bar to get ourselves a Sunday roast....
